Going up steep driveways.

I have a couple of steep driveways that I need to go up from time to time and depending on the angle I enter and how slow, the car refuses to go up. One wheel is spinning. Even if it goes up, I get a thump feeling like the gearbox has caught up to the engine revs. The dealer is telling me it's due to the suspension being so stiff and the dsc / dtc clicking in as it realises one wheel is off the ground. Anyone else experiance this. I said to the dealer that I felt it was a differential issue but I have no mchanical background to justify my observation. It's a gut feeling. They are going to re-flash my engine and gearbox ecu next week on the basis it might be a software issue. Engine drops revs when I come to a stop sometimes and occasionaly shrudder and twice stalled. I think the ecu re-flash should fix that.

They are giving me a loaner for the day so i"ll test the driveways I experiance my issues with to see how it copes.

Interested to hear from others with similar issues.

I've read a similar thread on the X5 forum.

I believe the same type of wheel spinning can be found when driving in the snow. Have you tried hitting the DTC button to see if that makes a difference (be it good or bad)?

Otherwise, I can vouch for the Quaife LSD.

Cheers.

I've been meaning to try it without the dtc etc.... I'll do it this week before going to the dealer.
