Vessel : Maersk Wave -- Due 10/1/2007 Port Hueneme (West Coast)

Since the September production thread is now scrolling off, I thought I'd start a new thread for all of those folks on Maersk Wave, due in Port Hueneme on October 1st. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of other posters on this boat, so I thought I'd start a thread.

It's painful watching the boat go slowly up the West Coast. I've been doing some reading, and it looks like I should expect 5 or 6 days at the VPC, plus two or three days of transit time to the Bay Area.

Sadly, this means that I won't get my car until the midweek, which is harder to arrange given my insane work schedule.

Well, I bought mine out of the dealership in Monterey. I was quoted as being able to get the car sometime in mid October. Why are you pushed back until the end of October? It shouldn't take _that_ long to go through VPC and get it trucked up here...

I just missed the Maersk Wave and my SA called me with news that I'm on the Tasco, Wallenius- Wilhelmsmen. Should arrive at dealer Oct 12-15th. It's been a long wait. Fair sailing.

I ordered mine mid August and production completed on September 17th and got on a boat between the 21st and 23rd and the eta on that is 10/14 or 10/15 on the vessell Hyundai. So I'm assuming that it'll get to dealership last week of Oct. Man I thought stevens creek had the largest inventory in the bay as they claim so I figure they'd get the 08s first. I guess I was wrong

I've seen the lot at Steven's Creek. It's massive.

Having said that, I ordered roughly around the same time you did. I think the difference was that they took a car that was already allocated to the dealership and changed it to match my specs. At any rate, it looks like I was just lucky and squeezed right onto the boat.

What the hell. When I first ordered my car they said they had a couple production spots left so I was assuming those were the ones that were allocated for the dealership. So either the dealership will be getting their 08s later than other dealerships in the bay area, or they lied to me. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, but come early to mid October I'm going to start calling them randomly to see if the 08s are on the lot. haha. By the way I was able to punch in the boat name using the site you gave me, and I guess the vessel didn't put in an update or something b/c nothing was found. Thanks though

My E93 is on the Maersk Wave and I'm getting VERY excited (i ordered it from Stevens Creek BMW). Hopefully it's either pulling into or already docked at Port Hueneme today!

Here's the Maersk Wave at the Panama Canal photo from 9/22:

and here's the AIS location from 9/26:

Just need to wait 7-10 more days and it will be transported to my dealership here in Northern California!!!

Oh, so there _is_ someone else on this boat.

Amusingly enough, I was doing some poking around and it turns out there are a literal boatload of Cooper Mini's on this boat. The Mini message boards are all lit up with 6 or 7 people all stacked on Maersk Wave.

yea that's where I got most of the info on the boats tracking from the mini forums. Thank god for them otherwise I'd be lost in tracking my car! Only a few more days to wait!

Just out of curiosity, when did you order yours? Mine went into the system on August 17th.

You know what I am not sure exactly what day it went into the system, but I filled out that one page paper with my options in handwriting and gave him my deposit about the same time as yours went in the system plus/minus a couple days. I didn't get a production number till about 2 weeks later and that's only after I kept calling. He was saying he still didn't know the price of the 08s even though I told him the prices were up on the bmw site already 3 days before. That same day he called and gave me my production number. Nice guy though.

I ordered mine on Aug 25th. I too filled out the one page and gave them a deposit. It took a few weeks before i got my production number. (see my other thread)

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84662

On Sept 19th, i stopped by the dealership and they had a print out of their orders showing my production number and delivery date of 10/1. I tracked it via the VIN number to find it on the Maersk Wave.

Good luck to you and I hope your wait isnt too long!

Mine was done completely over the phone. I listed out the options and he gave me a price based on 2007 numbers. Because they didn't have the prices for 2008 yet, we agreed for N dollars over invoice whatever that invoice turned out to be.

I got a fax with my production number 30 minutes later.

I think I'm the only other member on the board on this boat. My status also flipped to "at preparation center", so at least our status' are flipping over in sync with each other.

I'm expecting that the cars will be released tomorrow and available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. I have no data or information to back this, but that's just my guess.

I just got off the phone with my CA. The car is scheduled to be delivered on the 7th or 8th. However, he also said to not hold him to that because, roughly quoted "Once it goes to Wagoneers, we don't know anything until we get a call when they are 20 miles away."

Wagoneers is the trucking company.

He also mentioned that it might get here sooner than that. I think a good overall estimate for Northern California is 7 days from when the boat arrives, plus or minus a couple of days.
