minor cosmetic mod suggestions *pics inside*

I just bought this car a few days ago and had the black kidney grills installed the same day. I have an appointment to get tints put on in the beginning of this week. I'm also going to see if they can put black vinyl over the chrome window trim. My plans for this car is to keep it as simple and OEM looking as possible with minor enhancements. Besides for tint, chrome window trim overlay, and black kidney grills, I plan to get either all black, or white and carbon fiber hood/trunk roundels and I'd like to change the bulbs in my stock halos to pure white (probably 7500-8000k bulbs). Can you all suggest anymore minor cosmetic mods that I may be forgetting?

Replace/black out all of the lower grills.

An aero lip would be a nice touch as well.

Then buy an aero lip. Biggest bang for your buck exterior mod you can do.

Bottom mesh will be replaced within the week. It actually broke while I was washing the car. Is it supposed to be that flimsy? How do I "black it out"? Can I plasti dip it or should I take it off and paint it using sandpaper, primer, and paint?

Besides for fix/paint lower grill all I'm hearing is add a lip (or M front bumper). Can anyone post a picture of a e92 with front lip?

What else would you suggest I do?

do what i did, the front mesh that's broken out - just pop it out and go to bmw and replace it with the black one from the 328... tape around the ones with the foglight and spray paint black with those krylon spray paint. ..black for plastic.. OR just pull the bumper off and change them i sprayed mine black as a temporary thing until i find the need to remvoe the bumper then ill just swap em out to full black

also get the M aero lip OEM one... 3-400
and drop the car... 250
personally idle leave the emblems as is if you want to keep a clean OEM look.. 0
vinyl wrap the shadow trim in gloss black ... 150
the bmw glossy black kidney grills 100
since your car is black the bmw m3 performance carbon fiber rear lip spoiler ( the high kick one ) would look great on it 400

1200 in slight mods, and you're on your way !

brick by brick....

Thanks for the reply! I'll look into getting the M aero lip and I already have black kidney grills. I'm getting tints put on soon and asking them to overlay the window trim in gloss black. I'm not dropping the car because my neighborhood has 5 sets of HUGE speedbumps that I was never able to get over with terrible scraping in my lowered g35. Can you post a picture or two of your car with all these mods? I'm curious to see the M aero lip.

I plasti-dipped the side reflectors today. Came out OK, nothing too special. I'm going in for tint tomorrow. I'm thinking 20% all around. I'm also going to try to have the tinter do a vinyl wrap over the chrome window trim. I will post pictures tomorrow!

Take the grills off and paint them (acrylic or plastidip). No need to prep.

Would it look terrible to take the center lower mesh out (and expose the intercooler) and then leave the lower side mesh, by the foglights, and obviously paint that mesh black? Also, can I paint the mesh while still on the car? Would there be anyway to put newspaper behind the mesh and spray it right on the car so I dont have to take anything apart?

I painted mine. I put balloons in and blew them up with a pump from the outside. After I was done painting I popped the balloons and pulled them out. Sounds weird but it worked perfectly.

Small update. I had the car tinted today. 20% tint all around (except for front windshield). I also plasti-dipped the side reflectors. Tomorrow I'm having black lower grills installed and over the weekend I'm plasti-dipping my chrome window trim black. I'm also thinking about plasti-dipping the 335i emblem tomorrow. Other than that I've ordered GP Thunder 7800k H8 bulbs to replace my stock halo bulbs and they will be installed once they arrive. If I dont like them I will do a full angel eye kit sometime in the future. Finally, I'm debating which roundels to replace my stock ones with. I'm leaning towards the carbon fiber roundels, however, I'm also highly considering the all black roundels. What do you all think?

Aero lip and M3/Performance spoiler. I had the CF Roundels for awhile but ended up going back to Stock since the aftermarket roundels yellow over time. The OEM Roundels just have enough color to stand out over the Black or CF versions.

Plasti-dipped the 335i badge. Now sure how I like it, but I can always take the plasti-dip off if I chose to. I'll edit this post with updated pics tonight after my black lower grills get installed.
