Nettodat.man file Question

Hi Guys,

New to coding here. I loaded NCS expert, connected to my car and decided to just read the CIC module and see what ended up in the work folder.

So I see the FSW_PSW.TRC and FSW_PSW.MAN files as expected. The Man file is empty as is recommended after each coding session. PSW contains my modules info, so all good there.

The NETTODAT.TRC file contains my CIC modules code, so good there.

But the NETTODAT.MAN file is not empty and the date on the file did not change from when I installed NCS expert, so I'm guessing it was the default file, or another's person's car left in there?

My question is: should the NETTODAT.MAN file be cleared out just like we do with the FSW_PSW.MAN file? When would that man file be processed by NCSExpert? For safety sake, should I empty it out? or does the system need it for something?

Thanks

Sean

Forl changing of parameters on/off stuff. You shouldn't have to touch nettodat files. Unfortunately I've recently just started coding myself and havent ventured to that department as yet. So I don't know much on these filese just yet. It is a quest so just readd info here and should find answers and learn new things.

NETTODAT.MAN & FSW_PSW.MAN should be emptied before attempting a coding.

The idea is that after you read the module (ex. CIC) you get a NETTODAT.TRC & FSW_PSW.TRC.

These 2 files are basically the same.
Nettodat is in the form of codes (EX. 00, 01, 0A, etc).
FSW_PSW.TRC is in keywords format (EX. SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP)

Anyway, long story short..once you read the module ( CIC/NFRM/KOMBI) it exports those NETTODAT.TRC & FSW_PSW.TRC.

You than modify either NETTODAT.TRC or FSW_PSW.TRC.
Than you save which ever you choose to .MAN

Than you write the .MAN file to the ecu.

FSW_PSW.MAN is easy to load..just follow the NCS_DIY.PDF

For NETTODAT.MAN you can use NCSDummy..but I use this method:
1 load expert profile...
2 ... read CAS
3 make changes to the NETTODAT.trc (in WORK folder)
4 save as NETTODAT.MAN
5 in NCSEXPERT, load "revtor's profile" (or "FSW PSW MAN" which should be the same?)
6 click "Basic Functions" and select "coapiCodeSgByNettoData"
7 Nettodatenliste: select my NETTODAT.MAN
8 click OK to code the car.

Hope this clarifies your questions.
