JACKED Tow hook License Plate holder

Installed mtech bumper and tow hook license plate bracket yesterday and today while parked outside my work someone just comes by and just steals the whole license plate bracket as well my oem bmw roundel license plate and oem bmw plate frame.

The install on the bracket was straight forward; screw in the mount to the tow hook screw then screw the plate and frame onto the mount. I never thought someone would go so low as to just take it...

For the people with the tow hook license plate holder, do you guys have any preventative measures to keep it from being taken right off in a parking lot?

I think if its just screwed in there isnt anything to stop a thief from taking it....which sounds crazy....I mean i think the only thing to do is take it off when your not in it? Sounds like a pain in the ass but....maybe thread lock that bad boy in there or have someone tig tack weld it in various places.

Sorry to hear OP, but in all honestly they could have taken it even if it wasnt a tow hook plate. It's as easy as popping out a few screws.

the tow hook plate is more in your face and out there which may attract a potential thief

+1

Try some red loctite to lock it in so they have to put a lot more effort into getting it off.

I made sure the plate is as close to the bumper as possible, leaving no room to put a wrench in there. To remove it someone would have to unbolt the license plate, the backing plate, and the bracket to get to the stud. It's a 10 minutes job compared to 10 seconds if there is enough room for a wrench.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably end up getting another tow hook license plate holder to clear a no front license plate ticket as well as a dash cam so that in the future so I will have an idea of who they are.

Dashcam is in the car so that would be additional time to break into the car and get the cam over just unscrewing the license plate bracket so i would see that as less likely to happen
