Hey all,
I am in the process of carrying out a variety of mods to my 335D. I recently have seen many videos on youtube of diesel exhaust sounds. In particular I have seen an audi 3.0 tdi s-line with a serious exhaust note, sounds epic! I am yet to see any videos for the 335d, is there a way to give the D some more grunt? I don't even hear any noise come out the exhaust.. I am thinking of a Schnitzer exhaust or eisnmann.. Has anyone got a video with the quad exhaust or m3 style exhaust on a D? |

On your side of the pond, your best bet is to start with the DPF delete before looking at catbacks.

335dp I think what you want wont give you the sound you would really like but go for what Rotor says which in a way is WAYYY cheaper than the Schnitzer exhaust or eisnmann

Thanks, I'm keeping mine 335d until I run it into the ground. Don't mind the DPF delete but not too sure where I will stand once MOT is due..

schnitzer exhaust is a TOTAL waste of money, its a remus in a very expensive disguise and the sound will be no different from standard. cant speak of eisenmann but I have supersprint racing rear silencers and reasonator delete and still the sound is hardly better. you need to strip the lot out but then you get turbo whistle and smoke both of which personally I hate.

I deleted my rear muffler and just added two straight pipes in its place. Barely any noticeable sound difference.

I did the same recently. Have a link to a quick youtube video of the sound on page 2, as well lots of weight data and a cut-open of the oem muffler. I don't notice any whistle inside the cabin, and outside it's not bad either. The smartphone video right by the exhaust outlet pics up more whistle than I actually hear when standing behind the car when reved. It does give a nice little growl when started and when pressing the skinny pedal to the floor. Steady state driving I can't tell much if any difference. Seems like a good, cheap, significant weight loss mod to me. |
