LCI Halogen to LCI Xenon with NFRM3
Still working on a complete DIY guide but in the mean time if anyone is working on this, here is some helpful info.
Assuming you are NOT changing your NFRM3 LED Basis to a NFRM3 MAX Brose and adding the wires for for the leveling sensors and communication to the control units in the headlights here is what i found: If you are doing the retrofit for manual xenon aim control then i recommend you jumper pins 5 & 6 within the housing, this is easy to do by adding a wire between the high beam and the shutter connector. Also, to get the 3 LED's working with the AE's you can easily jumper pins 1 & 7 by adding a wire between the angel eye and the 3rd wire in the signal light wire, always use a multimeter to make sure you are jumpering the right wires. Instead of jumpering pins 2 & 4 in the housing (nearly impossible to do with the LCI headlight, it is a lot easier to do with pre-lci) i recommend doing this to the headlight wiring harness on the car instead. Will not hurt anything if you put your halogen headlights back in. The BMW part number for the connector that goes into pin 2 is 61138364838. Nobody seems to lists their part number that they used for the wiring connector (you are welcome). once this is done and you test the headlights you'll need to code the following after you add $522 to the VO of CAS and NFRM (this is mostly different for NFRM3 over NFRM2) NFRM3 values shown below: (This is done so that your high beams work) PWM_FL_BEI_BIXENON wert_01 wert_01 (so you don't get the adaptive malfuction) AUTO_LWR_ENABLE nicht_aktiv (so you don't get the parking lights error) KALTUE_SL_1_M1_14_M2_41 nicht_aktiv KALTUE_SL_2_M1_16_M1_18 nicht_aktiv WARMUE_SL_1_M1_14_M2_41 nicht_aktiv WARMUE_SL_2_M1_16_M1_18 nicht_aktiv hope this helps some people, couldn't find info specific to this setup so i figured i would share. Once my complete DIY is done i'll post it in that section. Last edited by michbmw; 08-26-2013 at 07:39 PM.. |

I should also mention you can save your money and not buy the adaptive control unit on the bottom of the headlights, it is not needed with the exception to plug the hole it covers. I cut a piece of rubber from an inner tube to the exact size of the hole and used some silicone to seal around it, you want to make sure this hole is completely plugged or else you will get moisture into your headlight

You need this harness http://www.sparesdeals.com/index.php...6&search=Xenon The pinouts are in this pdf (page 7) http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...6&d=1144172042 After that is wired up add $522 to the VO and reset the frm module using ncsexpert. If you are going from prelci to lci you also need to add +mueg or +mueg to the VO. Last edited by bmw325i; 02-20-2016 at 04:49 AM.. |
