What would be the possible scenario's if i changed my mind on the impending delivery of an 08 X3 (due in port tomorrow) and opted for a 328xi off the lot or ordered instead??? Just curious what the dealer response would be???

Depends on how the X3 was spec´d out. If it´s not a hard color to sell, the dealer might not care. Of course, it depends on how you present it (very apologetically of course).

This is why BMW NA will not permit individual optioning (v. packages) as well as why they limit our options, because in the U.S. people will change their mind whereas elsewhere once you order a car, it´s yours.

I think that if you haven't bought the X3 yet you have options.

Ordered with no packages/stripped.......Just want to keep my options open...Last minute potential change of heart. They have numerous 328xi coupes on the lot as per their inventory......Will call my CA Monday...Dont want to offend....and they have my $500 deposit

I think it should be alright. What's the value of the X3 you had built to order, and the 328i you're looking at? I'm pretty sure you're going to lose that deposit though.

If it is a pretty stripped out one like you said, and not a rediculous color, I see no reason why your dealer would mind, and the security deposit should be applied to whatever car you would like from them. After all its not like you ordered a crimson red Alpina B7

Thanks for the responses..Its Platinum Bronze and a base model. They would certainly be making more off of me on the 328xi coupe.....I will feel them out tomorrow...
