Details on the Toyota and Subaru Collaboration
for a sports car that is... and this is quite embarrassing to post...
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/26/t...big-questions/ it might be a fun little thing when we see it but SOHC? that is a thing of the past in sports cars... i'm thoroughly disappointed in both companies |

well considering that their plan is to introduce an entry level "sporty" car for under $17k a SOHC is probably the most cost efficient for them. But the HP is pretty dismal i must say. Minus well pay a little more and get a Tc. LOL

What did you expect! This is what happens when Toyota involves itself into producing a sports car. The only great performance car they produced was the Supra and from there they went to making reliable and economic cars.

The only good Toyota performance cars which come to mind are the st204 Celica, mr2, SC400, and the latest Supra. But don't underestimate the power of engineering. Of what they lack in experience, they could make up for with technical expertise. Their upcoming cars look promising. like the Lexus LF-A |

I'm gonna give toyota a chance here. I'm always open to the idea of a lightweight rear wheel drive car. when was the last time bmw came out with a car under 3000 lbs? I'm just sick of these sports cars that have a diluted driving experience because of the obscene weight of modern cars. its refreshing to see a modern lightweight rwd car being made today, regardless of who makes it.

i know exactly what you mean, but for a car at that price, it's not that expensive to get it fixed. Just grab a sways, a strut if you really want and some stiffer springs or coilovers and you'd be fine

i beg to differ. the mother of all subaru imprezas, 22B was a real monster! And if you ask me, a huge evo fan on my own, i'd say the Evo VI has the most potential. This was before mitsu went crazy on machines and assists.
