Painted my Calipers-2007 328i e90 Before and After
Hello,
I just painted my calipers and took some photos along the way. Here is the before and after, let me know what you think! I purchased some Caliper Cleaner and some Caliper paint from Autozone...nothing special. I ended up using the color "Chevy Orange-Red"- the reason I went with the Orange-red, is because on one of my friends cars he used Ferrari Red, and it looks real dark under the wheels. I wanted my color to really pop, so I figured the Orange/Red combo would be a bit brighter. Here are the photos...in the end, I was right. It looks very orange while I painted them, but after I put the wheels back on, and in the sun, they look Red. I haven't done the rears yet...but I will tackle them another weekend. Good luck with yours if you do them!

Thanks though, Ill look into the clear coat. I was actually gonna go with a fluorescent yellow or a fluorescent orange, but couldn't find a high temperature version of those colors. I'm sure that would have really pissed people off! lol

All the DIY Caliper painting instructions I found online and on Youtube had them painted while still on the car. Im sure if you had the mechanical abilities to take them off an paint them, it would work fine. I knew by keeping the calipers on the car, it would be very difficult for me to get paint on the brake pads or any other sensitive spots. Either way, im pretty happy with the results. Good luck on your DIY project!
