e92 - M3 or Performance rear spoiler?

M3 or Performance rear spoiler?

Also I hear there are different types of Performance spoilers, apparently one's lifted and the other isn't?

OEM CF Performance all the way!

The Rep Performance spoilers are low kick versions. The OEM CF Performance Spoiler is a high kick and worth very penny!

might as well go for OEM, replicas price varies and not worth it
funny thing is it ranges 150-300 for the same product by different sellers and stating they are high kick as OEM which isn't or at least not high as OEM

You don't just get a higher kick on the spoiler. You get a REAL Carbon Fiber Spoiler. Weighs just a few ounces and looks great!
Here's the link: http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Those replicas are plastic, heavy, and will fade over time. I know, I had a couple of them trying to save a few bucks. In the end, I got the real deal and wished I had done it in the first place!

They kinda look like the OEM, but only if you've never seen a real one in person. Really no comparison between the Reps and OEM version!

If you want a high kick one, go OEM. If you want a low kick one, just buy the cheapest rep on eBay, it's like $150 (vendors here and on eBay all get them from the same basic places, so the only difference is price). I have one from eBay and it's fine. Finish, weave, and fitment are good. Been on for 8 months now without fade, but I don't leave the car parked outside much.

Mine had M3 when I bought it, but for me it was too subtle, so when I had the car wrapped, I put on a Performance rep.

Kayfaz,

It's honestly all personal preference. Some people prefer strictly OEM parts regardless of the high prices for personal peace of mind. No rep will ever fit 100% like an OEM piece and that is a fact, no matter what lies some companies will try to through your way, which imho is not a good business practice. You will save a substantial amount of money by purchasing a replica version of a product but the fitment may be a percent or two off, and most people are OK with that. As far as my knowledge extends, I'm pretty sure there isn't a 100% high kick performance trunk spoiler replica that imitates the OEM perf trunk spoiler to the dot.

As far as choosing between the m3 style or performance style, it comes down to which style speaks to you the most. M3 style is more subtle where as the performance style is more aggressive.

I hope this helps.

Best,
Jay
