I have 07 335i and recently I crossed 75K miles and with that I am out of the extended warranty. I didn't planned to keep the car that long so messed up by not taking 100K miles warranty first time when I got it. I was planning to sell the car in few months but now thinking about getting another extended warranty which I am getting for 2K and it will give me 3years/36K miles.

Is there any MAJOR service which is due between 80-110K? Not the breakdown but the maintenance stuff which is not normally covered by warranty. My brakes and spark plugs are due in few months but I was not sure if there is anything big (like timing belt in other cars) which is needed for BMW around this mileage.

Did you buy the extended warranty from the dealer or third party?

My officemate have an X3 with 70K & wanted to extend her warranty again, but the dealer denied her because her car has way too much mileage.

I didn't buy it yet but Route 66 offers it for high mileage. But I think X series is excluded car

There may not be anything major outside of the spark plugs and brakes.

You may need to do an intake manifold cleaning (for carbon deposits on intake valves), which typically runs about $500-$750. If you have not done that ever, probably do it now (or at least see if the carbon deposits are bad) and then don't do it again before you sell in 3 years.

You could consider a transmission or differential fluid change. You may also end up replacing the battery, which is expensive for a battery.

There are no timing belts that need replacement, we have a chain.

P.S. - I just bought the Route 66 warranty for my 2007 335i earlier this year. Fortunately, I had only 55k miles, so I got the 5 yr / 100k mile version for about $2000. I just bought the car last year and plan to keep it for a while... Have not had to use the warranty yet though!
