Who makes the 6 speed manual in the 335i?

Just curious as to who makes the 6 speed manual tranny? Is it the same one found on the m3? I must have googled and forum searched if for hours and got zf and gm. But sooo many conflicting answers all at once.

I think the manual is a ZF unit. The automatic has some connection to ones used in GM cars.

Automatic on a 335 is a ZF, unless you have dual clutch. GM makes the automatic gearbox for the 328s.

I've heard it's crafted by God himself.

But seriously, it's a Getrag type "D" unit.

YES THAT'S IT...I stand corrected.

I don't know Sh*t about the car so don't listen to me, I just drive and break it

GS6-53DZ - THGX is the naming for the trans in the car.

Found this
The E60M5 and E63 M6 transmission is GS6-53DZ - THGR
The 335i transmission is GS6-53DZ - TJGD

I'm assuming the last 4 characters are for bell housing and input shaft changes ??

That matches the limited information I have found. its suppose to be nearly identical to the E39 M5 transmission.

Yea, looks like the TJGD is the old part number(discontinued) and it is now THGX.
