sell me your 335i
Hey guys, I actually just signed up to this forum a day or so ago. I've been looking for a 335i for the last week but haven't had much luck. I live in the bay area and prefer to buy locally (socal ok) I am looking for 2007-2012 335i in a 6speed MT. As far as colors go I'm pretty open but love the black, white, and grey. On the mileage anything under 60k with or without warranty as long as it has a clean title no mechanical problems. I'm very excited as this will be my first beamer I will own!! Also looking in around 30k so if its past that please contact me and we can talk numbers. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you guys. |

I too live in Bay Area, and have a car that you MUST consider😉
It has been babied, tastefully upgraded, and was custom-ordered w/ about every option available. Living in the Bay Area, I've commuted with 'sticks and autos, and since DCT wasn't available in 335i in 2010, I went w/ 'Step & Paddles, and really like it! I ALWAYS shift manually, typically w/ shifter. This car is awesome to drive...and to look at! Check this out: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=900063 |

If you are looking to spend 30k I would recommend going 09 and newer. The updated navigation on the 09 is much nicer. Take your time and you can find a great deal for a great car. It took me 2-3 months on here, but I found one for myself. People on here will try to bend you over and have you pay 100% of what they paid for the mods. Mods DON'T add value. Also use Edmonds for the pricing of the car, not crappy KBB. Edmonds is much closer to the actual value. Good luck, and PM me if you have any other questions as I have recently done what you are trying to do!

That is good general advice...the NAV (and iDrive Controller) were MUCH improved after '09.
However, as a long-time owner of three BMWs over the past 14 years, starting with a '00 328Ci (3 years), then a custom-ordered E46 M3 (7 1/2 years), then my current, custom-ordered E92 335i M-Sport (almost 4 years), I COMPLETELY disagree with regards to Mods..! Are they worth what was originally paid for them? NO WAY! But are they worth SOMETHING? Certainly, and especially if they are mods that the buyer would like on his (or her!) car anyways. Examples: I have put springs on several cars, but, after my 328Ci, I WISHED that I would have gone with coilovers. On my last four cars (and two BMWs), I went with (good) coilovers, and they completely changed the car. I also put aftermarket tires and wheels on all three BMWs, and on the DAY I picked up the last two. I also have clear film protection on my current car, on since it was a few weeks old. My previous car had hundreds of tiny rock chips on air dam, bumper, hood and mirrors. I wanted it on the M3, but there was no kit available when it was new (in '02). Do I think that the ~$1000 cost of it has added $1000 to the value of my car?! Of course not! But I'll put my paint condition (which no one sees in photos) up against most other (non re-painted) '10 335i cars...isn't that worth SOMETHING?! Sometimes the Mods are what SELLS the car! And KBB doesn't factor them in either, and many buyers would prefer the mod vs. a slight reduction in sales price, and for the mod to be replaced with the factory part. On my M3 sale, when the buyer was struggling to pay the price, and I offered to take $1000 off if I replaced my 19" wheels with OEM 18" wheels (I had M3 owners offering me $1200-1500 plus their OEM wheels). The buyer said that he didn't WANT the car without the wheels. He bought the car (and was the only one to ever see it!), has had it almost four years, and still loves it! Would he have paid $2700 for high end coilovers? Hell no, but he absolutely loves them, and had ability to raise car up slightly for his rural area. Anyways, just my (experienced) $.02...😉 |
