valve stem cap

Believe it not someone stole 1 valve stem cap off my 335i. has anyone found it. looks like a dime 1/8" thick with slots on the outer edge ? maybe someone wants to sell me one from their stock 18" sports wheels which are no longer being used

Maybe because it got cooler, your tire pressure went down and it sucked it inside the tire....do you hear it rattling around in there?

Don't worry about it....you can take off the valve stem cap from the spare tire......oh, wait a minute...we don't have spare tires.....never mind.

the caps are about 20 cents a piece from the dealer. they did a change as of late may production, the caps are now normal sized silver plastic. you can just throw on cheap black ones. DO NOT put custom chrome plated brass ones (the BMW special caps). they will fuse to the aluminum stem. BMW has now changed their logo caps to chrome plated plastic to prevent this problem, but there is still old inventory in dealer stock.


i lost one, or it got stolen, added a set of four to a parts order for something else.

the older style caps with the wide heads are no longer available from distribution-- the TPMS sensors i recently ordered, as well as the wheel ant tire set i got from the tire rack all came with the normal sized silver plastic caps.
