Any ignition/engine on (not ACC) fuses?

Gents,

Just finished my Passport Max/Escort Live Hardwire (thank you dremel!) and would prefer to have this thing turn on only after the engine is running (splitting hairs, I know) but was wondering if anyone knew.

Oh, and...Name: IMG_1172.jpg

I tapped into one of the home link fuses a while back and the ignition had to be on for it to work. I think the cigarette lighter also works the same way at least on my car.

Another possibility is the windshield wipers. I would think those would only work with the ignition on.

I don't think there is any circuit specifically for an engine "running" mode. I tapped mine straight into the wiring for the lighter socket in the passenger foot well.

Yes it does. I think I read your question wrong.

Ok thanks. I give up. I read somewhere that there were position 3 fuses (engine on) in addition to position 2 (ACC on). Think im chasing a ghost

Looking over this again i think i may be confused.

What state of operation are you wanting to turn it on? If i recall my car does the following

1st press: idrive comes on, no AC, engine not turning (my RD is off)
2nd press: idrive still on, cluster lights up, AC turns on, engine not turning (my RD is ON)
ANY press w/ foot on brake: engine start

are you looking to have it only active when there is combustion going on?

I don't think there is any easy way. The only thing that comes to mind is some kind of trigger hooked up to the starter wire that would remain hot until terminal 15 lost power.

Yeah, no worries, would've been a nice to have. Certainly not a need to have.
