Phaeton W12
What do you guys think about this car? Does anyone in this forum own one?
Anyways, we're getting one, a 2004 W12 Phaeton which should arrive next week. I'll post pictures as soon as we receive it. I would like to know your opinion about this car. |

Depreciates about 20-30k the instant it leaves the lot. If you're going to pay that much for a car, why not get an A8 instead since it's similarly priced? Seeing as you are buying used though, not a bad buy I guess. It's way too understated for me though. 90k VW lol

Well we're getting it for $25K only. Thats a good price I guess no?
The owner of the car is the owner of VW, Audi, Bentley, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Mitsubishi, and few other official dealers in our country. The milege on it is only 49,000 KM |

How much are you paying for one? Have you considered any alternatives? I mean, I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but I just don't know much about 'em cuz they got phazed out of production and all. I didn't even know they sold 'em over here.
Edit: Wow, $25k? I say it's a steal. Base Altimas run at that price.

Exactly, $25K for a V12 6.0L 420hp
Plus I'd take its interior over a BMW 7 series and an S-Class anytime. Only downfall of the car is in my opinion the looks. Maybe after posting the pics once I receive the car you guys can give me tips on how to improve it's looks! EDIT: The price and its actual value is $47K, but since the guy is a friend of my fathers he's selling it to us for as low as 25k. If we didn't like it we can always sell it for a profit |

The Phaeton never got much love, but as Clarkson said, it is an amazing car.
People just couldn't get past the fact that it was a VW. Not suprising considering the comments coming from people on this forum about the GTR.. At $25k I would jump all over it, I'm not into big, comfy, lux sedans, but the Phaeton really is great. The motor is smoother than anything I've had the pleasure of sampling.

Well there will be a 2-3 weeks delay. They were checking the car before handing it to us and they found out the gearbox is gone. So they've ordered a piece from Germany and it will probably take 2 weeks to arrive. Not a good start I know, but atleast they're checking the car and fixing whatever is wrong without us paying.
Anyways, I want to know how powerful the car.. I know its 420Hp V12 6.0L What about the torque and 0-60? |

I see one on occasion. It really is beautiful. No where near a stand-out but the lines and subtlety of the car is just amazing. Although I never see it on the move, just parked.

I love the car but it looks too much like a run-o-the-mill Passat for $80K or whatever it cost new.
$25K sound sweet though.

Nice interior, unoffending exterior, great engine, but the wrong badge on the hood.
It was doomed from the moment they branded it a VW. But for that price, jump all over it. Just make sure it has an extended warranty.

It was doomed from the start.
People looking for an S Class/7 series/A8/Jag XJ/LS 460 are not walking around VW dealerships and poeple walking around VW dealerships are not looking for an $80-$106K luxury vehicle. The W12s though are very rare. I would jump on this for $25K and hold it. There are only 8 Phaetons on Ebay and they are all V8s.
