335i vs. Heavily modded Evo
about 7-8 runs. about 4 from dig, 4 from roll.
I lost all runs from a roll, they were from 40-50 to 110-120. He was able to make me at his rear bumper by 110 mph or so. I won all runs from dig, altho i spun out A LOT. by 40 mph, he was at least a couple of cars behind me. I was surprised myself, i expected the opposite! he told me that my launches are horrible, which i agree with. He was a cool nice guy, pulled next to me, greeted each other then he left. the races were along a 2-3 mile stretch. there were no cars, but still we werent supposed to do it. he had PROcede on his, heads, exhaust, downpipes, and a few other mods he mentioned. I have V1.47. im 6at, he's MT. just wanted to share, im excited about it. what's funny is a G37 pulled next to me later that day, he revved it and stuff, i was like "nah, u should break in ur car first" hahaha. i wouldnt waste my gas on him |

So wait, the evo had an xede, a full exhaust, and some cams? Thats far from a highly modded Evo, its kinda around a "normal" evo. The car is running an Xede, so its slower than a reflashed car. My reflashed, exhaust, cams Evo ran a 12.4 @ 111 on pump gas with the small 03 turbo. My highly tuned Evo with a 35R would suck your paint off

I just came back from Cars & Coffee in irvine. raced a G35 with exhaust, and a supercharged Dodge Viper "official race car", it was interesting to have more smoke in my mouth from the viper than i already have from socal fires

Also, what are the main differences between the most recent EVO models in terms of mod potential? Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 10-27-2007 at 02:19 PM.. |

Heavily modified would've included a bigger turbo and/or stroker kit. Did he even launch the car from a dig? If he did a 2 step launch, there would be no way you would've won. Not to sound arrogant, but I think the Evo owner didn't know what to do with his car. No knowledgable Evo owner would waste money on getting header unless you just want it for show. Installing is a bitch, and they crack a lot too, and they add minimal power for the cost. And PROcede? I'm surprised there are SoCal guys still using that with the cheaper route of ECU Flash. Most just use that as a paperweight now since no one would want it in their Evo. |

![]() Sedan, I have about 6k in power mods. I have the AMS GT-35R kit and AMS FMIC, both of which are pricey, but worth the money. The car is capable of over 600 whp as it sits now. I'm limited to around 550 whp with the stock bottom end.

Very nice. I think the Gt35 is the biggest turbo I'd go on an Evo...other than that, the spool takes too long for my liking. You're going to drive around as is and wait for the bottom end to go out and rebuild?

It won't go out. I tuned it on the stock ECU. You have to be very, very stupid to blow up a properly running Evo using the stock ECU.

My friend's EVO IX GSR with just TBE & EBC @ 19lbs will beat my 335 from dig, roll, w/e. There's no match. 100mph+ there might be more of a race, but not down low. Stock EVOs are definitely slower than stock 335s though.

yes it is....and I would assume it would take more than just v1.47 to take my friend's lightly modded evo
