If you are due for emissions and have catless DP's and no BMS DP fix I can help you
I have Catless DP's and a JB4 with no DP fix harness.... After searching the internets high and low the only consensus I could find was that I had two options
#1 Put stock DP's back on #2 spend $100 for a POS 5 wire BMS DP fix harness that cost BMS $4 to make. So I did to my bimmer what I did with a dodge I had a couple years ago... I put my key in and pushed the start button without pressing the brake I turned autoclear off and cleared any DTC's for good measure. I turned the car off and started it from a cold start. I went through an entire drive cycle on my way to an Emissions check point. When you find an emissions station it's best to find a WA state certified A+ station that way if you fail the first one you can retest for free. I thought my O2 sensors were in their ready state and pulled up for my test. I failed the first test Due to O2's not being ready, but they gave me a readiness alarm to plug into my OBDII port for free so I drove around for a few minutes not too far from the test station to get the alarm to chime saying my system was ready. I then noticed I forgot to take my JB4 back into MAP 0. I changed it to MAP 0 and within a minute the alarm went off and I had a green light. I high tailed it back to the emissions station (about 10 miles away so I was cutting it close). I pulled in and passed the test. Two blocks of driving after the test my car threw a CEL. So the moral of the story is if you can clear the codes you can pass the test you just have a tiny window of opportunity to do so before you get a CEL. I suggest anyone who is interested to give me a call. Its not as complicated as some people make it to be. You wont get another code as long as your system isn't ready but as soon as its ready you need to be as close to the station as possible so you can pull in do your test before your now "ready" system can detect you don't have cats. The reason I am posting this up is because too many members on here are not willing to lend a hand (unless you want to throw some cash their way) and they give terrible advice. So if you want to pass and don't want to shell out a bunch of cash or time let me know cause I can walk you through it.

Good advice.
![]() I uninstalled my DPs and everything else for my winter setup, it just so happened that I was due for an emissions test this year too. So I kinda lucked out, I guess. |

hookandpull i didn't get back to you because i haven't been on the forum.
i found out accidentally another way you can pass emissions for the N54 engines. Since our cars have two sets of cats and even if you remove the cats that are attached to the dps there is another set behind them. when i went through emissions i forgot to turn the jb4 to map 0 therefore they could not communicate with the ecu. They had to put the sniffers in the exhaust and because there is still a set of cats the car passed.

a simple drive cycle will do, as long as the RPM doesn't exceed 3k. Don't need to remove shit.
I'm FBO catless stg 3 running Vishnu, FWIW.
