8000k / 6000k ... Really Undecided!!
Hi Guys,
So i've decided to change my xenon bulbs on my E92 but i'm really debating what to get. I think the oem's are really ugly (no offence). It doesn't have that true xenon look like say the 5 series or porsche's and acura's... So all you knowledgable people,what should I do? Will changing the bulbs make a difference? Will it give me that look i'm looking for without getting that ricey look... And lastly what should i go for? I know people say that you lose alot of light output with the higher kelvin you go. But is 6000k really gonna make a noticeable difference? Thankx for all your help... |

I agree the stock ones have just a tint of yelow in them that makes it less nice looking then say a 6000k or 8000k hid. However it just seems slightly waste of money to change the hid when there is already hid stock in the car

i have 8000k on my E92 - very blue, very cool looking, but light output is no where near as good as OEM
it's okay if you have loads of streetlights etc, but for out of town driving, i dont think they cut the mustard... |

Well i've been doing a little research around here and it seems that 6000k is the popular vote.
Now comes the brand... I hear alot about Osram and Mclughllogh and others as well. So what to choose what to choose... Ahhhh so confusing. Do the Osram's turn yellow after being lit for a while like our Oem's do? |

I have Osram/Sylvania 6000K as well. Great compromise between color and light output. 8000K would have been too dim to be useful.

Ok so basically it seems as though everyone here is suggesting the Osram's 6000.
A few questions for those of you who have them... Does it have that blue/purple effect like say the 5 series lights... Are they similar to stock or will i see a noticeable difference? Thankx |

Osram is Sylvania
XenStart is Phillps I sold my Mclugllogh 6000k's... was going to get Mclugllogh 8000... but i drove a lot at weed hour of morning 5:30AM.. and don't want to loose light output.. so I went with Osram.

And do you prefer your Osrams 6000 over the Mclugllogh 6000?
I'm looking for more of a blue/purple hue and i don't really want to go 8000. And your the light man so your opinion means alot  Quote:
