DISA Motor Maintenance
So I've read some threads about DISA flap failures and got kinda nervous and was wondering how often you guys check yours. The first one seems easy to pull out but the second seems like i would have to take off the whole manifold to get to it. It looks like you just need a few torx wrenches. If I remember correctly, the car I got my 3 stage IM from had 27k on it and i probably put around 10-15k on it since then so it should be good for a while, but I was just curious if you guys regularly pull yours out or if there's another way to tell if theyre working without taking the manifold out.

On e46, if you pull one out you can tell its bad if it wiggles alot.
On n52 only the large one is easily accessible, therefore its one only on you can check. personally I think this design will only fail in electronics, as the recent threads suggest with the weird noises.

What i may do is put a gopro or something similar in the engine bay and see if i hear any weird noises occasionally. I sometimes get a rough idle at about 1k rpm on cold starts but im just attributing that to being around 40F or less some times
