New Addition to the Diesel Family. Q5 TDI

Just picked up a 2014 Audi Q5 TDI to add to the diesel family. Powerful engine, the single turbo does feel a bit laggy down low but it still goes like hell. The 8 speed transmission compensates well down low and is very well suited to the car. Great mileage too. So far averaging about 27mpg. Loving it thus far.

Wanted an X5 diesel but they're just too expensive...especially when you option it out.

Nice choice. I have the Q5 TDI or used X5d in my sights to replace my Mercedes ML320, if it finally ever decides to breakdown.

Sweet. Fully loaded?

Also, were you looking at the other luxury diesel options (Cayenne & Bluetec) other than the X5d?

Nah, just a premium plus with most of the options.

I did, the cayenne was very nice but also very very expensive. Bluetec was also nice, more truck like, great ride. nice quality but a bit blah.

Couldn't agree with you more. If I was gonna get a Cayenne for the price Porsche offers, I might as well splurge a little more and get a Turbo or GTS. I'm not a big fan of Merc's SUVs either other than the batshit insane G55 which simply screams "Hey, look at me. I bought this with f**k you money!."

I'd love tot take a G55 off road. Throw some knobby tires on, lock the diffs and go rock crawling. Cayenne's have so much customizing available as well.

Also, audi gave a great financing deal. 1.9% for 60 months. That was a HUGE factor.

Nice, this based on the new Touareg chasis right? And the 4-corner suspension was eliminated by VW and Audi, with only Porsche offering it anymore on their high end model?

Nope, the Touareg and Cayenne share a chassis. The Q7 resembles it as well.
This is a modified Audi A5 chassis. I believe you can still get the air suspension on a high end cayenne. Not sure if you can still get it on the touraeg. The original cayenne & touraeg were pretty decent offroaders when equipped right.

This one has audi drive select which can tune the suspension comfort as well as steering response and other driving dynamics.
