Cheapskate or Criminals
So someone decided to either help themselves to my side mirror or tried to get into the car. Funny thing is I'd been looking to change the cover for a few weeks now as the one they took is scratched up. So I guess I could even be more pissed off than I am now.
Question though, do you recommend I put a plastic bag over it as I'm just about to order a new one and don't want the mechanics breaking as it still works.? .

I would guess that is more likely to be somebody needing a mirror cap than a break in.

I thought as much. Any recommendations of where to get a genuine one from? I suppose if there are good replicas, I'd go for that as well.

Genuine primed ones are £40ish from BMMINIPARTs, just ordered one. painted ones are £70 if they have your colour in stock.
I've covered mine in duct tape for now, a bag makes too much road noise. |

looks like someone made the call for you, now you have no chance but get the new cover
of course you should cover them up to make sure they don't get dirty, dirt is not a friend of any electronics |

I thought for a minute to do the same thing but I don't think I could put someone else through the same thing I went through. Just glad it didn't happen outside my house otherwise I'd be overly paranoid parking there.
