Make sure you get the correct lights, give BMR a call they will source install and code!

No better option!

Yep. Coding is unavoidable. The harnesses just adapt the wiring plugs to suit the newer lights.

Brave soul!

While it's not difficult once you've managed to get hold of the right software, a good cable and got it all up and running and have grip on the mechanics of how things are done, going in 'gun ho' could easily earn you a trip to the dealer with a screwed up car.

I've got 20 years of IT career behind me at a very senior level and as such technical things I find very natural to learn. That said I had to spend a lot of time reading, learning along with trial and some error. I am now at a point when I do coding without my heart briefly stopping each time I hit the go button when enacting a settings change to the car ECUs.

Applications like NCS Expert are not designed for user friendliness even when used along with say NCS Dummy. Setting them up is easier than it used to be (based on older guides/howto's I've read) but gotta say, it's not simple.

Not saying you can't do it but knowing 'computers inside out' is only half the battle. The German logic takes some getting used to.

Honestly, I would encourage you to use the resources on the forum and figure this out for yourself. It really isn't all that difficult.

Why? When you bring your car in for service, some things will have the tendency to reset your personal coding settings. If this ever happens, if you can do the coding yourself, it's a 5 minute fix. If you're relying on someone, it'll take longer and cost you (if your coder is charging for it).

Even if you have to pay someone to teach you how to set up the software on your personal computer, it would be money better spent rather than having someone do one-time coding for you. Many good folks on here will guide you through the process though without attempting to charge you.

Good luck.
