Interesting.
Runflats gone. New goodyears installed on summer wheels. My thoughts now turn to spacesaver wheel. I bought an e46 16in steel spacesaver wheel a couple of years ago, mistakenly thinking it would fit. I have just discovered that the BMW winter wheel setup uses 16in. x 5in. wheels. So can I take it that my e46 spacesaver will fit if I get the ET correct using a spacer? Anybody done this or experimented with the idea, what thickness spacer to use etc.?

Does it hit the caliper at the outer edge (diameter too small) or on the back face of the wheel (offset incorrect)?
If the back face you can buy a spacer plate and longer bolts to correct. If the outer edge of the wheel then you need a 17" one I've 17" winters on mine and there is plenty of space between the caliper and the wheel. I'd guess you need a spacer HTH |
