e92 320d lack of power
Hi, I'm the owner of a 320d e92, and I have been experiencing something over the last few months, which is a lack of power.
This doesn't happen every time. Sometimes I start the car and it is perfect, others, when I pull the engine revs a bit slower, makes noise but it pulls much less! I've read some things about an actuator thing but have no idea if it can be related. Thank you in advance |

First of anything, get it to a local indy and to check if any fault codes!

I agree with the acuator theory, but 1st you must check it is a definate lack of boost when the power is low. If that's the case then the actuator can be removed for checking.

I've read something about BMW not replacing only the actuator. Is this true? |

Unfortunately don't really like the look of the boost gage in the cabin of this type of car. If it was a more race inspired car, but this is a DD. Perhaps a dyno... Although the issues doesn't always happen

I really wouldn't rely on an error popping up as my entire turbo went last month, cost me £980 in all and no codes apeared, just down on power with no boost. Unless you'resure by the feel of it then a boost/pressure gauge on a pipe that can be connected when showing the fault would prove it your car is lacking boost.
Google Midland Turbos, they can check the Actuator off the car and are the people who rebuilt my turbo.
