New tires to replace RFTs
I have to replace the tires on my 2009 328i coupe (sport package). Tire specs are:
225/40r18 255/35r18 RTFs were horrible in terms of ride, road noise and longevity. They lasted 20K miles and I have been pushing it since the tires looked worn out quite sometime back. I am looking to replace them with a Non RFT tire. After talking to some shops and reading up reviews on the Internet, Toyo Proxes 4 plus seems like the best option out there for the price. General G Max also seemed like a good bet but some shops told me that the Proxes were much better. Anyone has experience with these tires ? What was your experience ? Any other tires that I may be missing out ? Does replacing the RFTs with Non RFTs invalidate the warranty ? I have the extended CPO warranty on the car for another 6 months or so. Can a dealer refuse to fix an issue if the RFT tires have been replaced by Non RFTs ? Would appreciate your experience and any suggestions that you have....! |

The AS-03 is a great tire, although they're pretty noisy. What is your budget?

Hi VMRWheels,
I do not have a specific budget. I want something good that isn't too expensive. I do not use the car on the track. Would like something that in quiet and lasts long. From what I have read, Toyo Proxes are a good middle ground between handling and comfort. Longevity seems good. They are also not as expensive as some of the other options. TeinBMW, PSS have pretty good reviews but they are a bit on the higher end for me. The car never goes to the track so I am not sure if it is worth the cost for me. |

The Toyos are a good choice. If you want a great tire but not quite at the PSS price point there is also the Falken Fk-453, Continental DW and Bridgestone Potenzas.
