What tint to stay away from?
Iv heard alot of stories about people getting tint done, specifically metallic that screws with their GPS signal, and that Ceramic tint is the way to go, and that it doesnt disrupt AM/FM/GPS signals. I just wanted to confirm this because many people have said that both work for them, but i rather not take any chances

A friend of mine had tints put on his 5-series and now he had to practically put the key fob next to the window to open his doors. Not sure what kind of tints he used. Anyone know what type of tint to avoid, or which tints are safe? |

Most people on here have had better results with their CA with using Formula 1 Pinnacle tint. Its ceramic tint also.

used regular ol Lumar metallic tint and my FM/Sat/Nav and CA work the same as it did before i got tint. My tint is really light, only 50% tint, i'm not sure if it has anything to do with it tho.

I have 35% Carbon Stable tints from 3M. They look great, more like 20% and havent had any issues with GPS, Phone, or Comfort Access.

Stay away from reflective tints too, they're usually not legal and will make the windows look greenish from the glass.

I've had no problems with my Formula One Pinnacle tint. I did quite a bit of research before getting my window tinted and this seemed like the best choice.

I've also had no problem with Madico Onyx 50%, although it is metallic tint, no AM/FM/GPS reception problem. The tint shop was recommended by Weatherford BMW.

My BMW dealer used a shop that used a non-metallic tint. It works great. They use it on all their cars. The tint guy said they've been using it on BMW's for 5 years with no issues. I haven't heard too many people suggest a non-metallic tint so I was surprised when they installed it. But so far, so good.
