Downpipes being installed this weekend

I am running a Cobb ap and going to install my new dps this weekend. What do I need to do in terms of having the codes removed? Do I simply clear all codes with Cobb? If so won't they just come back on set some point?

What is the dp fix from burger do if the Cobb deletes the codes?

You need to run the stage 2 maps for the cells not to be thrown. Cobb has all the details on their website, if it's required then it won't throw specific codes for that mod. Stg 1 will throw cells with dps.

It's for JB4, since all it does is auto clear the codes, thus never putting the emission system into ready status. Won't affect anything, besides failing an emissions test.

Cobb stage 2 disables the codes for having no cat.

Incorrect.

The DP fix is a separate harness that wires in to one of the sub connectors in the DME. Having this fix installed and calibrated correctly WILL give you emissions ready status.

I'm doing the same thing. Just waiting for gaskets and bolts to come in from ar. I'm planning on running Cobb stg 2 which should clear the codes. In the meantime looking for a dp fix when emissions come up. You can connect the fix when it's time for emissions and remove it after you've passed. That sounds correct?

Side note: make sure they adjust the wastegates while they are installing the downpipes. I didn't adjust mine and the rattle is driving me insane.

Bummer. I do t want to drive around with engine light on. So my only option is to get dp fix? Or run stage 2. Is anyone running stage 2 with only dps installed. It says suggested to have intake and a cat back. It also says it's not necessary for safe operation. I am curious what most folks are doing though. I hate the bms dci. Perhaps I will get a kn drop in.

Also I can't hear any rattle from waste gate now. Am I def gonna hear rattle when I do dp?

At the end of the day I am learning these cars blow

Just run the Cobb Stage 2 maps and you won't throw the check engine light for the downpipes. I have stock intake and stock catback on my 135i (which has a more restrictive exhaust than the 335i) and I run the Cobb Stage 2+ maps with no issues.

As for the wastegate rattle, I never had it and still don't have it after installing the 'worst' downpipes for this platform (raceland lol).

My car has 34k miles and and the rattle was only barely audible on startup. After downpipes it rattles very loud on startup and at part throttle low boost (which is 80% of my driving) so its pretty annoying. Just make sure the wastegates are adjusted while they are in there to minimize the rattle. I'll be pulling my DPs back off to adjust. It's a pretty common issue if you search on here for it.
