Edmunds GT-R Photo Shoot

We were invited to Edmunds.com photo shoot tonight to get a closer look at the upcoming Nissan GT-R; they had 2 to show off. This thing is big... longer and wider than a Dodge Viper... lol. I'm liking the red color.

The car is pretty quiet, it's not as loud as the video makes it seem.

I can say with certaintly that the car is ugly. It looks very plasticy and overdone. Sure it's fast, but that's not all I'm looking for when I spend $70+K.

We plan to. That and the Evo X are the two cars we have our eyes on in 2008. Neither are very nice looking. But the more power they make, the less time you'll see them as they drive by

did u get a chance to drive it? If yall do tune it... be sure to make an add on so things can be adjusted from the awesome screen. For a car that big a 7:35 ring time is damn good.

I seriously hate the roof profile and the Nissan titan lookin interior but everything else is ok. Can't wait to procede that..

I can only imagine. If a stock GT-R really runs 0-60mph in 3.5 sec. and the 1/4 mi. in 11.7 sec., then just think what a Vishnu GT-R will do equipped with the PROcede v2....yikes!!!!!!! I think it will be pure mind-boggling insanity!

btw -- with stock performance (acceleration and handling) numbers like it's said to have, who cares if it weighs 3,800lbs.?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the engine in the GT-R the same as the ones in say the 350z and G35, only with two turbos? That must be one strong motor to be used and modified for this car.

No; it's a completely new variation of the VQ engine, and it also has a larger displacement of 3.8L instead of 3.7L found in the Infiniti G37.

Yeah, I know you were only joking, but just in case some ppl have their hopes up...we will never keep up with the GT-R. That thing appears to be a bargain supercar that beats almost all other supercars.
