Summer tires

Spring fever is going to hit in Chicago today, I am heavily contemplating putting on the summer rims and tires today. The big question is will it snow again? I commute to the city every day. 10 day doesn't look too awful

Waiting to install due to weather, or actually waiting to get them?

Might be a little cold for them in the morning. Check the cold operating temp for the tires you have. Some are pretty high!!

Waiting to get them. Sold my old summers and will buy some used Advan's when this guy returns from deployment. My back-up plan is to buy some ST-8's from Sonic if this falls through. Sell them this winter and buy new Advan's or BC Forged (6 wk lead-time). It's a painful wait...

I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I usually put my summers on at beginning of April each year. Last year, I had the Continental DW before I replaced with the Michelin mid summer. Below 40 you just need to take it easy and not push them

Even if we don't see snow again (big if), summer tires are going to struggle in the mornings/nights when it's still cold out.

Personally I'd hold off another couple of weeks.

Roll the dice. I put mine on 2 weeks ago. However, it has been garaged for the most part. But I think we're in the clear now. (Hopefully)

Snow stuck everywhere except asphalt apparently here, I think I'll be fine with PSS during my 7 mile commute.

The drive was just fine this morning, just drive with caution on the summers, snow will be gone by the time I leave work!
