Bahrain this year has held two pre-season testing, which most teams are familiar with. (And all these years of racing.)

The Mercedes dominance reminds me of 2009 Brawn GP. (Did Ross Brawn had more or less influence to this year's Mercedes?)

This year is also where Bahrain GP turned into a sunset-night race. And better for both fans in Europe and Americas.

If Benz will continue full domination with 1-2 finishes it will still take Hamilton 3 more first finishes before he surpasses Rosberg. Nico is not slow so it can still be some good battles.

I'll be rooting for Mercedes but I hope Williams fares better here since they had some good pre-season results.

The starting time of the Bahrain GP this season is at 18:00 local time.

Organisers of the Bahrain Grand Prix have confirmed the 2014 race will be held at night under floodlights.

Lighting has been installed around the Bahrain International Circuit this year and will be used at this weekend's 6-hour round of the World Endurance Championship. The circuit intends to mark its tenth anniversary on the F1 calendar by holding next year's race at night.

"This is by far the biggest development project we have ever undertaken at the BIC since the circuit was first built," track CEO Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa said. "I believe that there can be no better way for us to mark our 10th anniversary in F1 by demonstrating our long term commitment to the sport through this significant investment."

Singapore is the only other "night race" on the calendar, with Abu Dhabi referred to as a "twilight race" as the race starts at sunset.

I hope some other team steps up and adds some competition to the season. I'd be ok with Nico having a great year, but tomorrow's race will most likely be another one where MB runs off to have their own race and leaves the rest of the field to fight for 3rd place and below. Early days still, but this is very reminiscent of the year Braun won it.

Wow, Benz is really flexing their muscles today. I just hope management allow Nico and Lewis to race, actually thinking of it, it doesn't matter Lewis will not yield to team orders and knowing that neither will Nico. And it looks like quite an even fight between the teams closest behind them. This could still be good and not turn into the Vettel style snooze fest of yesteryear.
