Carbon Fiber Accessories
Hello guys,
I need your opinion, I have Montego Blue 2009 335i sedan with sport package and I want to take my car's looks to next level, I have planned few things which include 1.LUX AE 2. HID Fog lights "where and what brand to buy" 3. replace side mirror covers with carbon fiber "should I replace them with E 90 look carbon fiber covers or should I go for F30 Style carbon fiber covers"? 4. Exterior side Pilar carbon fiber overlay "where and what brand to buy"? 5. Shark Fin cover with carbon fiber overlay? I already have BMW Performance black kidney grills any other items missing? all inputs are welcome I have attached current look of my car Thanks in advance |

I would say without M sport bumpers front and back the "aggressiveness" of carbon fiber won't really pull your car together.
Personally your car is one of the cleanest ones on the board and by that I mean detail wise. LUX is a good place to start for you. Forget about the carbon fiber side pillars it's going to look tacky. Go gloss black roof, shark fin, and side mirrors if you really must. The overlays look cheap and aftermarket for sure on our cars.

2. Go with HPB for HID Fogs - that's what I use (+ have their LED Interior Kit). Hi quality setup with no problems 3. I'm partial to M3 Mirrors with OEM CF covers (what I have) - but that's gonna be big $$ 4. Don't do it I bought a set for my E92 - they are hi quality/thickness, but after just holding them up against the car - wasn't liking them at all, and I have a lot of exterior CF items. They're setting in my office to this day... 5. Tried one of these too - took it back off. With my SGM roof it looked like a 'bump on a frog' since it was so obviously different. Prolly would look good on a Black car or a car with Black Vinyl wrapped roof... Now CF grilles I DO like & have - I got mine from Turner Motorsports Just my opinions

1. Great idea. That was the first upgrade on my car, but I didn't bother with Lux. Way overpriced. The inner smaller circle always lights up brighter than the outside circle anyway so until they have that fixed I wouldn't pay for them.
2. I'm still waiting to do this to my car, can't wait. 3. Not sure why you'd replace the whole housing. Get the covers, they look 100% stock I could send you a picture of mine if you'd like. I don't understand why people on the forums discourage that. The way I see it, if you don't have an M car, get over it and buy covers that look 100% the same instead of trying to piece together an M yourself. Only you'd know the difference anyway, no one else. 4. Please don't do it. There's so much to the E90 LCI to look at, don't distract people from the beauty of this car with CF pillars. 5. I'm thinking about this too, also just the cover. Might add to the CF accents I have going on myself, but the post above mine makes me rethink it. I have a space gray car as well and I can see what he's saying... You're missing front splitters on your bumper. I prefer the stock bumper with splitters far more than the M front. I love the M rear, but the front looks amazing with splitters on stock. I have the CF splitters on mine, again I could send you pics but it might be a while since my front end is crashed up right now and won't be fixed till mid May |

Well here is what your car would look like with CF mirror caps...personally I am not a big fan of the CF shark fin...but we each like our own things...I also added CF front splitters and a CF CSL trunk (painted with CF stripe exposed.)

You might also look at the Mtech rear bumper...either would look good. It depends how aggressive you want to be also.

Mine was OEM chrome...I painted it myself matte black. It is one of the easiest DIY's there is to do.

This is what I did to my Jet Black E90 LCI (some things are still in transit I only got the car a few weeks ago):
-E92 Lighting's LED CREE 40w Angel Eye -Horizon LED Headlights and fog lights -Carbon fiber front splitters (ebay), same as above. -Carbon fiber rear spoiler from JG Mods (really really nice rep piece) -VMR V810 in Gunmetal, 19x8.5 front 19x9.5 rear. I daily drive/city park so didn't go with BBS CH-R in titanium which is my dream wheel. VMR are cheap to replace when rashed and they already got a little kiss after the first day LOL -H&R sport lowering springs -Bluetooth stereo adapter off Amazon -A shit ton of coding and customizing -75mm Apex Race Parts stud kit -Motorsports Hardware Forged Steel extended track day lug nuts in neo chrome I need to fix my boat trailer so I'm holding off on ordering the BMW Performance Brake upgrade for the front (m135 calipers and drilled/slotted rotors), and matching rear rotors from turner motorsports. Now, I had the carbon fiber overlays for the b-pillars on my old turbo 1992 lexus SC300. It looked great even after 5 years in the sun. Would I put them on the BMW? No chance in hell, won't fit the looks of the car. Do not do carbon fiber mirror covers either. Oh, and rule #1: DO NOT change out the BMW emblems for something of different color or style. That's the biggest pet peeve of mine. It looks tacky. |

What direction do you want to do with your car? Do you want it clean but with a few mods or do you want it aggressive or something else? I think a new rear bumper with a separate diffuser would do wonders for your car...
