V2 install issue - Help
Im installing my v2 on someones car and for some reason, I cant get the computer to read the PROcede. Got the USB cable hooked up and working properly. Changed the comms to 4 on both. But when I try to click "Go offline/online" it does nothing. It just says "copy to clipboard".
Anyone else get this issue?

Did you push the key in and press the start button once?
worse case, you can turn the car on and see if it connects. i did this, and i uploaded the firmware and the car turned off, but as long as your computer doesnt turn off your fine.

Yeah, had that figured out from reading the forum about previous issues.
We rebooted the laptop and reconfigured the comms but now we get this error "Cannot open com 4". We keep trying to use different com ports and each time is "cannot open com 6" or "cannot open com 7". WTF!!! This is really frustrating. Just connecting the laptop is taking twice as long as the install itself.

We do and then reset it. After we decided to just let it think for itself, it still didnt want to open the one it set for itself.

I had the same problem yesterday in my V2 install. I was using a serial cable however. Couldn't open the com Ports. I went back and looked at the V1.47 install instructions and it didn't say anything about messing with a com port setting. So I unplugged the cable from the laptop, shut down the PROcede software, plugged the cable back into the laptop, then ran the software again. I didn't go into the comms to change the port. I just clicked "go online/offline" in the comms menu and it worked.
This may not work for you if using a USB cable though.

I cant get my 6 foot cable to work, yet my 6 " cable works fine. Its really odd. On 1.47 It wasnt an issue. Im sure its all in my head, but its extremely ironic.

un plug the serial and plug it back in. See if it will recognize new hardware... too hard to trouble shoot without being there.

Ok, so I pulled out my laptop and downloaded everything. Same thing started happening then all of a sudden we had "online" come up. We didnt even want to breathe on the car in case that set it off.
Downloaded all the maps and everything in that regard went smooth. Now other issues. Started the car and BAM, it shut off after sputtering. Started it up again and it was good, then after a minute started sputtering again. Threw a LIMP CEL. I cleared the faults and started it up again. Did the same thing once again. So I cleared the faults and put the plugs on and took the PROced box out. Started fine and ran fine no problems. Now what?

Did it start and run fine with the bypass plugs plugged in?

Yeah, worked fine with the bypass plugs.
I was just reading on the vishnuforums that it might be bricked. I unplugged the serial cable when it read "Download complete 100%". This was at the point where it says the ECU is restarting. However, there was no indication that the ECU had been restarted or was done.

Would the wiring be bad if the car works perfectly with the bypass plugs in?
Yeah, the other laptop worked better but we are getting a new serial cable to see if that was a cluprit too.

How do I do that?

I guess I dont have to check the wiring because it would obviously not work even with the bypass plugs in. However, this is really frustrating. Mostly because its hurting my install credibility and its not my fault, its the stupid poor instructions and user program. I litterally had the whole PROcede v1/v2 all hooked up in about 25 mins. Then we spent about 2.5 hours trying to get the software to work.

Um, I hope so. Dont know which one that was exactly. I really wished there was a good pictorial diagram of where things were supposed to be plugged in. I think more in an engineering type way with flowcharts and crap. Dont give me pics with wrong colored wires and say connect this to this.
