Codes after hitting pothole
Hi all,
Weird issue that I hope is a simple (and cheap) fix. I hit a big pothole today on my way to work. It was fine until I started the car to go home (2007 335 6-speed). When I started it, I had a tire pressure warning (tires are fine), DSC warning, e-brake warning (yellow), and the yellow half CEL (limp mode). I threw my code reader on it and got: P0458 -- evap purge control circuit low P0091 -- fuel pressure regulator circuit low, and P0335 -- crank position sensor "A" circuit I searched the forum and found little on these except the listing of what they are (same as my Bentley) and a few posts regarding P0335. Nothing with these altogether. I'm hoping that the bump just knocked something loose and it is as simple as re-connecting/tightening something. Any ideas what the common thread might be? Thanks. check under your car near the fuel tank where the evap charcoal canister is. Google it if you dont know where it is. Sounds like you damaged it when you hit the pothole.

After putting up with the codes coming and going for a couple of weeks, I took the car to my friend's shop for a diagnosis (he has a new factory scan system). Turns out the codes pointed to the high pressure fuel pump. One call to the local dealer, and we found out that my HPFP was still covered under the recall (I have around 147,000 km). Apparently they are covered up to 160k. Quite relieved.
