learned lesson
I just learned my first BMW lesson... don't go to Tires Plus, even for balancing and brake fluid flush
I got my 2008 BMW 335i 3 weeks ago, took it in a week later to Tires plus just for some balancing/rotation/brake flush. FAIL On the ride home, all tpms sensors started going off. I pulled over to a parking lot to check them... yup way underinflated so I topped them off with a little compressor I carry in the trunk. Today, 2 weeks later, I see that they rotated and put the F-ing rear bigger tires on the front and front on the back. (I have the sport package) I am not happy, but my fault for trying to save a couple bucks.... never again |

Second time i hear they put the wider tires in the front, that's ridiculous. Well not tires plus, but some tire shop. Luckily i have had good luck with my local Big O

This may be a dumb question, but could any damage have been done to suspension, alignment, etc by driving around like this for a couple weeks (~300 miles)?

When I told the manager about it, he said that is how they do rotations, front to back. So the guy doing it must have just mindlessly rotated that way without looking to see if it was staggered first.

Discount Tire has never screwed me over (also helps that I know the manager really well since I used to work there). If it wasn't for liability purposes, they'd probably let me do everything myself since I know how to handle the machines.
Big O or Discount. Wouldn't leave my car in the hands of anyone lower grade than those guys.

It makes sense, but if a tech has both front and rear off the car, it should be plain as day to see that the rears are wider than the fronts. Just an error on their part in the end due to negligence.

for sure luck of supervision at that store, you would think they know better since they are in that business, but also as drivers, before we take off we should look if the car is good to go

Also, I can't believe how I did not catch it for 2 weeks Especially considering how much time I spent cleaning and looking at them. Then I had it to my local BMW dealership and they didn't catch it either. |
