Hi mate

Was going to post yesterday but was at an all you can eat steak restaurant (yes you heard right) so by the time i had eaten all that i could and got home i just had to wallow in my own self pity wondering why id just done that to myself. Anyway, a few tips:

Drop link fitting:
When fitting coilovers only fit the top drop link mount
Lower the car back down onto bricks (both front wheels at level height) then reach behind the wheel and adjust the drop link until it just freely goes into the anti roll bar.

To remove the old strut i had to pry open the upright with a pry bar, this was a 2 man job really so i found hammering the pry bar into the gap made a HUGE difference and stopped me having to mallet the bottom of the strut for another half hour lol. (my bar is an old tyre iron and conveniently only a few mm wider than the gap so was perfect).

Take care when removing old struts, i could do it with them inside the arch (which would have been preferable) which meant i had to pull them outside the arch by simultaneously pushing down on the hub and pulling it out. I came very close to pinging my wing off here so be careful. Also, when its out it is held in place by what i think is either the abs sensor or brake pad sensor. Either way it will pretty much want to rest on the arch. I did it myself so had prepared with some clean rags to protect the wing and a second jack to take the weight of the upright assembly.

Other than that i cant really think of anything inparticular that was difficult or i would have done differently second time round. But ive not done the rears yet so thats an unknown to me at the moment.

A much much easier way of doing this is to put a 1/4" ratchet into the gap and turn it. This opens it up just enough to slide it up and down the with ease. I've change suspension quite a few times on mine and it takes seconds to drop the hub off.

Thanks for the advice everyone,

I am proper looking forward to seeing the way the car handles once this is done. Im also hopefully going to have some staggered deep dish 19's to go on it once the coilovers are done.

I'll do my best to do some installation pix when I fit them.
