Looking to get a trolley jack so i can put my spacers on. Has anyone bought a new one recently that they would recommend? Will need a low one as my car is on H&R springs

I got one of these Arcon jacks from costo a few years back when I had a Nissan 200SX S14a which was lowered and I would recommend it.

Good jack that. Im go two of those also from costco. And 2 larger 3 ton jacks from costco aswell. Had them all over 3 years and they get used daily for my job and still havent given up although one needed grease as one of the pistons ceased up but all good again now.

there are a lot on eBay, 1.5t low entry for around £80 and upwards. what are peoples thoughts on these - they look alright to me as a cheaper alternative to the costco one. is 1.5t enough, I would have thought so ?

The costcos ones are good but heavy as the moon. If I were to buy one again I would make sure it was 3 ton, built of aluminium and low profile.

The Costcos one Is fine if your not moving it too far but much much better with an aluminium job

Ally are ok for working on a perfectly smooth surface, if your working out in the street, id be wanting a steel frame.

I have an Arcan 3ton from Costco, was on special for 75£ about 4-5 years ago, tis a beast (a heavy beast, but still a beast!!)

The latest Costco ones are aluminium. I've had both their old steel and their newer aluminium and I would go for the latter every time. It's the 1.8 ton one here:

Im not sure on that. My costco 3 ton isnt that heavy and I can pick it up with no issues at all.

My 1.8 ton ones you can juggle they are so light.

You can lift them but if you ve ever used an aluminium one you would see they are much better than the steel jobs. My shed is a good bit from my drive so it was just a pita.

Halfords low profile 2ton £40. got one seems ok. you have to make something up to fit in the rubber cup under the car.

I bought the 2 Ton low profile jack with the case etc from SGS last year, very nice jack for the money, slips under the sil with plenty of room to spare. A good buy for £47...

you can also get a rubber BMW jack-point adapter off ebay nice and cheaply.

however, when jacking mine up the other day i noticed that 3 of my jacking point plastic guides are mashed, so much so that i cant actually use my rubber jacking adapter.

does anyone know if its possible to buy new plastic jacking point guides and if they are easy to fit?

Sgs looks like a really good buy! And British made so will be quality. Gonna get one, shame they don't make torque wrenche that's what I was really looking for

I got 2 draper torque wrenches. 1/2 & 3/4 inch. Got them of ebay and they work fine

+1 for the sgs low profile jack. Heavy but that makes me confident its not going to break after a few years as it feels sturdy.

Is it bad that i still have to drive up 1 1/2 inch planks to get it under? lol.

Yes you can replace them, about £10 each IIRC.

Easy to fit, they just clip in.
