Tracking

I've rung a few tyres places and none of them want to touch my E90 when it comes to the tracking and have all said I should go to BMW. Is this a common thing? Local dealer wants £180+vat, kiwi fit are willing to do it but should I trust them?!?

Does anyone know of a garage with a hunter machine in the Preston area? I'm getting 2 new tyres first thing on Saturday and I don't fancy destroying them due to my tracking being out. Cheers

I hate going for tracking with a passion.

I went to my local place and when i had to tell them what tyre pressures should be and that they'd selected M3 on the machine....i probably should have walked out!

Drives just as crap half hour later and £70 lighter!

You should take it back and get your money back then, why do people put up with shoddy service?

previously used Quiksave in Lytham, St Annes for my old S4, i told them which settings to put in (not OEM) and they did the job (had to leave the car though, they were "too busy" to do while i waited).

they charge "per adjustment" rather than a flat fee, on the S4, there were 4 adjustments possible, which i think is similar to the E90. at the time (2 years ago, it was £30 per adjustment)

i had it checked when i got home at my usual Alignment Only (they only do alignment, no repairs or tyres or anything) garage in Edinburgh, and right enough they had set it up as requested.

I,m in Preston area and will be looking at doing mine very soon, due to suspension changes.had mine previously done at Manchester and cost £120 for 4 wheel alignment on hunter machine.will be looking to try and find it cheaper as some mention it costing less than £100.you can look on alignmycar.co.uk to see hunter alignment centres in the area
