225 tire on 8.5" wheel - How bad will it look
So when I was ordering tires 235/35/19 was out of stock so I picked up 225/35/19 Achilles ATR Sport's for now.
Wondering if the stretch will be noticeable? From pictures online some tires look pretty badly stretched whereas some I can't even tell there is a stretch. I'm not a fan of the stretched look and I'm hoping it doesn't look too bad, but some input before I mount the tires could help me out. Maybe I'll just pickup a 235 used set or something.

I have 235/35 on my 19x9.5 wheels and the stretch is not that noticeable on my VMR VB3.

Yeah I searched around and it seems like the stretch vary's from situation to situation. Looks like I'll have to just see for myself.

I've seen 225/35-20 on an 8.5" rim it had a slight stretch I'm not into the extreme stretch look but I actually liked the way that looked. I think 225/35-19 will look a little more stretched.

225's will only be a hair of a stretch on a 8.5" wheel. Depending on what tire it is, you may not even notice. With the ATR Sports, they are a bit short and narrow, so it will appear slightly stretched on a 8.5" wheel.

I'm in same boat... I wanted Falken 452 but they are back ordered for their 235 35 19. I went with 225 35 19 on Alufelgen SF-71 8.5". I really hope the stretch isn't noticeable with that combo of rim and tire...
