Here's a brief review of a pretty slick solution to mounting your detector (Escort's and V1's). The look surpasses the "cups look" on the windshield and adds a clean OEM look to mounting, especially if your detector is hardwired. I ordered the Super Z Escort Mount for a 9500ix. The mount has some flexibility in mounting, but is limited by the BMW mirror housing design. The unit sits just under the 'clown nose' so it's position is not to high, and not to low with no impairment of vision, which is very convenient to reach the 9500ix buttons since I deleted the Escort Smartcord for a direct hardwire to the fuse box.
Here's the site with iPhone pics of my mount below: http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/Conn...arDetector.htm I'm quite selective and see these as the benefit to other mount options:
It's not perfect, but what is...a couple of minor points:
Overall recommended IMO! I'm pleased with this solution. ![]()

In California, window mounting is illegal so this may be a loophole.

What? Window mounting is illegal in Cali? Where are you supposed to mount your detector, then??

The Super Z fit on your E92? I've been looking for something like this but any i have seen wont fit our mirrors. Are the mirrors the same on the M as on the non M?

Dashboard is fine I believe. Or hardwired integrated. It is a stupid law in my opinion.

If you like window mounting it, I wouldn't let the new law stop me. Just make sure you have a top of the line detector. I've only gotten complements from police on my V1.

Not 100% sure, but I think they are the same mirror unit...if in doubt measure the stem with a string then divide by 3.14 for dia.
