The dogs have really done it this time
Rant:
Got home this evening after dinner and found that our beagles were very busy while we were out. Not only did they disect my jacket but 1 of them treated themselves to my spare key (on the stairs after my sis moved my car) which in turn locked and unlocked and locked .... my car flattening the battery What an evening aye Rant over Anyways i was wondering if anyone knows how much these smart keys are to replace and reprogramme to the car?

Bugger!
Fob + Key Insert is ~$300 from the US (from memory when I ordered mine). If you have comfort access you will have to go to Auto Classic to have it programmed, at ~$140. If you dont have CA, you can programme it yourself

It's a keyless entry type thing whereby you can unlock/lock the car doors with the key FOB (remote) in your pocket and you just use you hand to unlock/lock. From memory, the exterior door handle has some small ridges/lines on the plastic on the top which is where you unlock and lock from |

If the key is not damaged I think the battery in the key might have just run down on power. I guess it recharges thru" the ignition once you start driving, give it a go, have noticed that happening a few times. Also, you can manually open your car using the key just in case you ain't aware.

I left my fob in my trousers while it went through the wash, got me worried so hair drier on it and left it unused for a week, luck for me, it still worked after all that.
