Daeos harness issue
I was wondering if anyone has had this issue:
I recently installed the Daeos harness to my e90 335xi. It was very easy to install. I Verified all my connections and tested the lights again after putting everything back together. While doing some other stuff in my garage, I noticed that the lights would randomly come on for a few seconds (i think about 15 secs) then shut off and I hear the ecu turn on and turn off with the lights. My light switch was on the "off" position. So I switched it to the "auto" position and the same thing happened like 40 or so mins later. Has anyone experienced or noticed this happening? |

I bought the same harness a few months back. I found it to be a waste of money.
When I installed mine, I literally had every error code imaginable come up on my nav screen. I unplugged it from the ECU, and everything was fine. I rechecked all the wires and couldn't seem to get it to work. Even with the Xenon-colored angel eye replacement bulbs I installed, it seems that all pre-2010 bmw's angel eye bulbs don't give off enough light to be seen during the day anyway. If you have the iDrive system, you can disable "Daytime Running lights" in the info menu, and from there you can manually switch your lights to the one directly to the right of the "off" position, and your angel eyes will run. Granted, so will the turn signals, and taillights... But that's the best you can do until you buy a 2010-current BMW

Yea I wanted to avoid having to switching my light switch. I actually called the company, I was very surprised that they have never heard of this issue since I've seen numerous posts that are similar to my issue on the forum.

Thanx hoopvillian. That's a little bit more relieving, now I just have to remember to lock my door when I put it in the garage so I don't drain my battery haha. Its annoying but oh well, I guess this will be the temp solution until I learn how to code it

I had an issue with my Daeos but nothing similar to this. I had it for more than 2 months & everything seems to be fine with no error on dash. Just last week, left AE was out & now both AE are out. Contacted the vendor & says they never heard of such issues. But they are willing to replace it. Could it be just the relays?
