New guy from Dallas
I finally made the jump from the Mustang camp, been wanting a BMW for quite some time. Ordered a Montego Blue 335i coupe on 6/30, and every day is killing me waiting for it to get here. Update today showed it to be in paint. Look forward to meeting some of you guys at one of the meets sometime. Obviously no pics of the new car yet, so here's the Mustang I sold to help finance the new one!

Are you considering any aftermarket performance upgrades? I'm torn on the whole JB v Procede debate...

I'm not really sure yet. To me it looks like most of the aftermarket stuff for BMW's is for more show than go. Anything on the "go" side comes at a definite price. When I first bought my Mustang, I wasn't going to do any mods, and thousands of dollars later... haha.

N55 is much newer and has much fewer tuning options(currently)...I've been out of the JB3/4 world for a while but last time I checked it was an N54 tune only. The COBB is N54 only also. Never had/researched a PROcede, so I have no idea on that one.
N54 = 07-10 Twin Turbo I-6 N55 = 11-xx Single Twin Scroll Turbo I-6 Also, GE, come on out last Thursday of the month...it's our big monthly meet! http://www.e90post.com/forums/calend...=2011-7-28&c=1

Actually both tuners have products for the N55. It appears to be debatable as to which one is 'better'. Quotes because they both show gains, but each tune has it's plusses and minuses. I'm pretty much a gear-head myself having spent the formative portion of my life working behind the counter of my family's auto parts store and under the hood of many cars. While I prefer to do my work with a checkbook now, I research thoroughly before jumping in over my head
I plan on a decent break-in period before I go hunting for more performance. It's going to be a big jump up from my current E46 anyway, so I'm sure I won't be bored immediately. But it will come Thanks for the advice and I'll try to make it to the next Plano meet.
