E92 LCI LED tail light question

I already know how to code my car. And I got the 4 LCI lights in a box ready to be installed. Do I need anything else? I heard something about a harness? Is that necessary?

Yes thats what I had to do before a harness retrofit was made. Later I paid 30 bucks for the harness.

Bought the connector/plug/pins/wires at Fry's and basically probed each pin and tested for voltage (braking/drl/reverse/turn). I didnt write anything down tho

Its not worth the hassle imo, the harness would be the best choice.
