BMW service

Hi. I haven't been in HK that long and I had recently gotten a used M3. As I would like to do a brand new servicing for the car (not knowing what the last owner had done), I called up BMW Concessionaires HK for a quote.

The guy on the phone offered me an Inspection II package including engine oil change, transmission oil change, differential fluid change, replace of spark plugs etc, check underchassis, check coolant, steering fluid and body inspection. As I heard on the phone, damage is estimated to be HKD6000, Later he emailed me and corrected the price to HKD12,000! Car had to be left in the garage for 2-3 days. Frankly I find this quote to be overpriced.

Are there any bros who had done this service package with them? Are they worth it? Or should I go to other pro-BMW workshops? Any recommendations of workshops to visit which can provide unparallel service?

As for the car, it drives fine but I suspect it needs a transmission oil and diff fluid change. Car is not due to be serviced for another 5000km according to the onboard computer. I had done a vehicle inspection with HKMI prior to purchasing the car. Passed the test with no problems.

Advice appreciated. Thanks.

Garage List
2012 BMW m3  [0.00]
Why not ask them to give you a detailed list on price and parts need to be serviced... And see if it does need that much ... Bmwhk is always a "ahem" imo... But do see what they say and why the sudden double inc.

In HK, all dealer service centres do rip you off (probably double or triple a price of other garages). IMO, BMWHK is the most reasonably priced one in HKG comparing with Audi and Mercedes. Yes,you should get an itemlised bill. Extras would be charged for imported goods from other countries.

I recommend the OP go to another garage for service. BMW is the least expensive of the official dealer services, but they are still much more expensive than outside garages. They are the most reliable, service-wise, but unless if it is a really tricky repair which other garages can't do, then BMW should be avoided, given the big price difference.
