Another Vishnu PWM Meth Install/Review
So I have been running forced induction cars (turbos, centrifugal and roots superchargers) for some 20+ years but have never utilized methanol. Have been hearing about it for years but I never wanted to add anything new to the car. Sure, I've upgrade turbos/blower pulleys, tunes, intercoolers, DVs, intakes, exhaust, etc but just didn't want to add something entirely new that could adversely affect the reliability/maintenance of the car. Reliability/safety is one reason that I have used Vishnu products going on 5 years now. There are some extra measures they build in to their software to ensure that safety/reliability of the engine is just as important as how much power the product makes. This alone has kept me loyal through my second 335, and while I'm not typically the first to jump on anything new, the prospect of a front mount, Proceed-integrated meth kit sounded incredible...so I did something out of my comfort zone, and placed an order within 10 minutes of hearing about it on this forum (thanks e90post!).
The Product: The kit came packaged nicely with all of the necessary parts plus some additional for install. Overall, the quality appears first rate. The Install: I would like to start off by saying that this is definitely not a quick 15 minute install. The package came with very detailed install instruction as well as videos posted online, which was a bonus, but the project seemed to be a bit more that I could handle myself so I decided to go with Daniel Ross from RSi - a local mobile installer and shop in Orange County. I have used Daniel for downpipe installs on both my E90 and E92 and he does great work. I have seen pictures of his other meth kit installs so it was a no brainer. The install took a few hours which was at no inconvenience since Daniel came to my house. Also, there was no need to make a trip to the local auto parts store since the kit was 100% complete. The Performance: Well, unfortunately I don't have any dynos or logs at the moment, but I have a grin that will not go away. I don't usually get to drive for fun much since I'm fairly busy; however everyday since the meth install I have found a "reason" to hop in the car for some spirited runs. At WOT, the best way to describe the car is that is pulls like a lightened M5/M6. There's still plenty of torque down low but as the rev's climb the car pulls harder and harder to redline. With the Proceed traction control feature, the car pulls hard off the line and is just insane in the upper RPM range. I used to have a Vortech-blown Saleen Mustang in the mid 90's that made 450 to the wheels and ran mid 11's on DR's cutting 1.8's. I bet I could cut 1.7's on the stock runflats with the Proceed traction control integration - it's that good. The 335 pulls as hard as I remember the Saleen did. I haven't been to the drag strip in 10 years but I think I will dust off my helmet and make the 100 mile trip to Fontana. If Fontana was a good track, I would expect high 11's with the car but I'll settle for mid 12's there. Since WOT is not the only way we drive, I'm happy to say that the daily drive is no different. The car starts the same, sounds the same, and behaves exactly the same as a daily driver. Low boost acceleration is usually the same, however the meth will kick in at boost levels around 4psi which are confirmed with the illumination of the turn signals. Overall: I couldn't be happier. I have logged about 200 miles since the meth install and so far, so good. There are no compromises with this product and I would recommend it to anyone. Some may say this product is pricey - but as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for. Thanks team Vishnu. Here's a couple picture of the car and engine bay:

30%. I haven't changed it since the meth install, but when I get some time I'm going to get a Vbox and then play around with the value to see what works best.

Install was def a little harder then expected just because it was my first time. If were to do it again I'd say about 45 min. Hardest part is getting the charge pipe in lol

Thanks for taking the time to write that review. We appreciate it. I'm happy to see what started off as a little pet project of mine turn into a consumer product that works exactly how it was intended to. We really did spend a ton of time refining the hardware of the kit. And nearly as much time writing the instructions and taking pics/videos. I'm glad it was worth it

I believe any charge pipe will work since this is an Aquamist HFS-3 kit.
That being said SHIV has designed his own kit to work only with his charge pipe to allow for easy de-install and fully under hood mounting. He also has directly integrated it with the procede to allow the procede to fully control it. If you buy the kit from him the answer is no it wont work unless you come up with your own mounting solution under the hood. Sorry for the long answer but hope it helps. I am sure SHIV or someone will chime in soon to correct me or better help you |

We have never test fitted any 3rd party charge pipes with the PWM meth kit. My concern would be the clearance between the elbow and the meth pump mount assembly. This is why our charge pipe has a silicone elbow and not a hard elbow. The other issue with the Stett Pipe in particular (besides the inappropriate placement of the meth bugs which you would not want to use anyway) is the small pipe diameter. The key to good atomization is to have as much volume as possible between the nozzles and the throttle body. It all adds up.
