Real sluggish feeling
Alright short sweet and simple, car has 76k miles just changed the oil last weekend. Last night driving home just something didn't seem right. You give it gas and from 700-3k the thing just seemed to crawl just really bogged down in a sense enough to make you smack the dash and say hurry the hell up. After 3k it seemed to open up but still didn't seem to have its normal spunk. Im ordering new plugs tomorrow along with brakes (which have nothing to do with this). I know the car isant misfiring with a bad coil or running a cylinder down cause I know what that feels like on these cars. It has been extremely humid down here in Fl and that might contribute to something, I need to either replace or clean my K&N its prob been about 20k miles too. I have noticed that the thing goes thru gas worse then my excursion. Any more insight would be jolly or if you guys have any luck with the shit you pour in your tank. Hmmm speaking of I did fill up half a tank last night wonder if I could have some bad gas in it???

mines been doing the same thing... real slow and sluggish... especially from dead stop take offs.
its even worse with the a/c on and i guess 100+ degree weather isnt helping either. i believe i fueled up about 2 weeks ago and its been sitting in garage until yesterday and today. i fueled up exactly same as i have been before and i am doubting its the fuel. anyways. cars in the dealership with the issue among few other things.

well i did the reset (tranny) and ECU reset is not recommended i think if you are still under warranty or maintenance program... i made the mistake of doing so and the SA was cool enough to believe me when i said i was jumping another car.
to be honest i do not think its the MAF or fuel filter. and i would not touch the MAF with anything since i learned a costly lesson from my previous MB. and seafoam the engine would probably bring benefit but if you have the balls to do seafoam right, be my guest. as for me, i would not take that risk with BMW now being much more strict about their maintenance now days. i took my car in for exhaust valve lifter issue (the ticking noise when idle) and i think its something that is related to it. for some reason, to me the bogging/lagging/sluggish started around the same time as the lifter issue. i am also about 2700 miles away from the oil change but BMW refuses to change them until i am atleast 2000 miles away. so after the lifter issue fixed and oil changed, i will rule out the 2 probability and if still continues i will pursuit other probabilities.

oh and i also had a customer come in few days ago and told me about compression loss on his 5 series with only about 3000 miles and ended up being the engine block corrosion from bad fuel mixture (ethanol and gasoline) from the pump. and i also cannot rule this probability out either since we have same engine as a 528i.
so once i get my car back i will def post the results here.

Check for stored VANOS codes (sometimes you will not get an SES light). Also have someone check your PCV hoses. Mine were all cracked and my car was really slow on the track. I'm getting my car back today hopefully.
