Curse you, N55 Platform!

Just a little rant.

First, the N55 dynoed very low 270hp with intake and procede on 93 oct.

Second, Go in for DME update and they cant update because the CANbus wires were not removed (Didn't know this, and didn't read it anywhere until Ernie told me)

Third, It fails multiple emissions tests. I talked to Robert over at Vishnu (Thanks for your help ) He said the intake is messing with the MAF sensor on the stock map and it is automatically raising boost to compensate, which results in failed emissions test. FML... THe Injen intake is a PIA IMO to take off and re-install. (People who live in states with emissions tests, this is a heads up)

Now considering 2009-2010 M3

Thanks for reading. Flamesuit engaged.

What software version are you currently running?

and correct me if i'm wrong here but usually with awd cars, your % power loss from flywheel to wheels is on average around 6% greater than that of a similar rwd car. So lower numbers should be expected.

What kind and what settings were on the dyno you used?
any idea of the temp humidity?

but yeah 270 with a procede is def a bit low.

Unfortunately yes but, I will be heading back there with the upgraded DME and dynoing again as soon as I get my car back.

I am on the Original software still, I know it is not good, I was at least expecting baseline to be 280ish.

You are correct!

I am not entirely sure on the settings used but the guy had tons of EVOs and WRXs there. (Prolly irrelevant)
THe temp was 80 the humidity I did not measure.

I have:
N55 E90 AT
Sport Package
Injen Intake
Procede
93 oct BP Gas

I was in a hurry that day since the dyno tool wayyyyy longer than expected so I had to get out of there and forgot to get the charts off him. When I head back ill pick em up.

Base runs hit 255

I would love to take it off every time, but that crank sensor is a PIA with larger hands (No i'm not fat). It takes me 45min to an hour just for that sensor alone.

Thanks guys!

I should be getting the car back later today early tomorrow, I will try to get to the dyno early next week. Should I reset 12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3.. in command center under RPM 3 after the DME update? I was thinking I should, to let it start on a fresh slate.

So just found out today, after removing the can wires on map 0 with all codes cleared, they still cannot update the DME

The car still knows something is plugged in... ARGHH!!

I couldn't believe it either, I will have to uninstall tonight and reschedule. This car just doesn't want to be updated. This was the second attempt.

Base runs on a mustang dyno for our shop car were 240whp, xi model.

With a tune and intake, we cranked out 296 whp, but started throwing MAF codes 2 days later (intake had been on almost a month), and we run the JB3. Terry has it under control now, running a custom map 6. We tried to dyno the car when it was almost 100 degrees outsidr with the AR design prototype HFC and the car was down almost 100hp due to the high humidity and temps in the dyno room (110+)

Just goes to show these engines are a little more sensitive to AITs than the N54 was..

I agree that the n55 seems to be more sensitive to hot weather. I work nights and when I get off work in the morning, it is cooler and the car seems to run better and stronger as compared to the hot temps in the afternoon.

On a side note, sometimes the dme doesn't update. It'll fail a few times even with the canbus wires off. Thats why they always leave it over night.

They tried multiple times and it just wouldn't happen. The car did sit overnight and the next day was the same story.
