I need your opinion!!!

My warranty is expiring and I got an email from BMW asking me to extend the warranty.

Cost for 3year/100km is about $3700.

Is it worth it?

Just for your info after 3 years of ownership I have done about 22000 Km.

If the fuel pump is still covered (like they are in the US) then I wouldn't bother. I kept my 330i for 5 years and had no issues but it seems to have been more reliable than the 335.

I am with you 40.... (whats that about anyway???) my warranty is going to expire soon and I am wondering if it is worth it .

My initial thought is well what could go wrong turbo sounds like an expensive part and from my initial review i could by some stockers (or upgraded ones) for 4-5k installed. the last bmw i had was a 96 and only traded it in on the 335 3 years ago and the only prob (apart from a flat battery) i had was a radiator fan relay $40.

pretty sure the HPFP is not covered without warranty unlike the US.

I extended my warranty anyway.

I think that's negotiable as well, BMW originally quoted me that but then reduced it to $3,170, I have a little while to decide... Probs won't go with it.
Good for peace of mind though.

Write back and tell them that you are not the slightest bit interested in that offer as $3,700 is overpriced and holds no incentive for you.

Encourage them to speak with the General Manager and then when they have the price closer to $2000 - they may then put their second offer to you and you will sign up immediately if they demonstrate a commitment to a loyal and genuine customer.

However, DO NOT send this email if you are not prepared to sign up on the spot when they come back with a price closer to $2k.

I got it for just under $3.1k. (extra 3 years and extra 75k kms)

went for a 4 week holiday and came back to a pool of oil under my car - apparently warped transmission pan gasket.

They replaced the gasket transmission oil pan under the extended warranty, with no charge at all to me, and more importantly, without me having to "argue" about it being covered under warranty.

With the issues I had In the three and a bit years I had the car (fuel pump, injectors, coils, 4x broken vents), I thought $3k was worth the peace of mind though I'm not sure if things such as air vents will be covered.
